Mrs. Nuckercorn

Several hours had gone by since Mrs. Nuckercorn had sunk deeply into her favourite spot, a lumpy, well worn red chair. A book laid face-down on her lap and the flames in her fireplace flickered gingerly on their last breath before her. Outside the dim, yellow street light struggled to penetrate the white blanket of snow that was settling over the quiet rural town where Mrs. Nuckercorn resided.
